MejorDetective.com — Spain's private investigator directory
814 licensed detectives and agencies, browsable by province and investigation type, built around one core idea: verify the licence before you hire.
Why a private-investigator directory
People who need a private detective are usually going through something stressful — a suspected affair, a dubious sick leave, a custody dispute. They face two blind spots at once: they have no idea who operates in their area, and they cannot tell a properly licensed professional from a cowboy. MejorDetective.com tackles both, gathering Spain's investigators into one searchable place and making licence verification part of the journey.
I run it as one of my own lead-generation platforms: visitors land with a specific problem and leave with the phone number of a vetted professional in their province.
What users can do
- Search instantly by city, agency name or postcode, with shortcuts to the busiest markets — Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Malaga.
- Open detailed profiles showing each detective's phone, address and TIP licence reference.
- Browse five investigation specialities, from infidelity cases to unfair competition, each on its own landing page.
- Follow a four-step guided flow — search, compare, verify, contact — that teaches them what to check before committing.
- Navigate by territory through per-region and per-province pages with live professional counts.
- Read the blog, which covers questions like how an investigator's report is used in custody proceedings.

The build
There is no CMS underneath — the entire product is a bespoke Laravel + PHP application backed by MySQL. Profile pages for all 814 professionals, province pages and service landings are generated programmatically, each shipping with its own metadata and JSON-LD (including a SearchAction for the site search). That programmatic-SEO layer is what lets one codebase rank for hundreds of local queries.
Frontend weight stays minimal thanks to Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js bundled with Vite — a deliberate choice for users searching from a phone in a moment of urgency.
Common questions
How large is the MejorDetective.com directory?
The live homepage lists 814 private detectives and agencies spread over 50 provinces and 17 autonomous communities. Regional pages show the split — Andalusia leads with 164 professionals, ahead of Catalonia with 114 and Madrid with 102.
What is the TIP licence the site keeps mentioning?
In Spain, private investigators must hold a professional ID card (TIP) issued by the Interior Ministry. The directory bakes a verification step into its four-step flow, prompting users to confirm a detective's licence before hiring — crucial, since evidence gathered by unlicensed operators may be worthless in court.
Which investigation services can users browse?
Five service categories, each with a dedicated landing page: infidelity investigations, fraudulent sick-leave checks, child custody and parental suitability, corporate and unfair-competition investigations, and locating missing persons.
How do enquiries stay discreet?
The whole journey is designed around confidentiality: profiles expose phone and address so users can reach out directly, and the final step of the guided flow is a confidential consultation request rather than a public form.
