Why it exists: choosing a tax advisor without guessing in the dark
Spanish freelancers and small companies switch tax advisors more often than you would think — over fees, over service, or because they simply outgrew their firm. The problem is that the market is scattered across thousands of local offices and, until now, there was no single place to see them all: the alternative was asking around or settling for the first result that came up.
MejorAsesoriaFiscal.com solves exactly that: it gathers 7,654 tax and accounting advisory firms from all over Spain into a single national directory, with verified, up-to-date email, address and contact details. Anyone looking for an advisor can compare several firms in their province and write to them directly, with no sign-up and no middlemen.
It is a 100% own product: I designed it, I build it and I operate it. It belongs to my family of Spanish professional directories "Mejor…" — MejorCorredorDeSeguros, MejorTasador, MejorProcurador and others — which all share the same philosophy: verified data, programmatic SEO and zero friction for the user.

How it is built
1. Laravel architecture
- A bespoke Laravel and PHP application on MySQL: models for territories, firms and procedures, and Blade templates that assemble every page from the database.
- Clean, hierarchical routes (
/mejores-asesorias-fiscales/{territorio},/tramite/{slug}) that mirror the directory's real structure and make crawling easy. - A lightweight frontend with Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, bundled with Vite and hash-versioned assets.
- Zero off-the-shelf themes, zero plugins: every line of code exists because the product needs it.
2. Data pipeline
- Public professional sources: REAF, AEDAF, professional associations and Google Maps as the origin of the records.
- Normalisation and deduplication before anything reaches MySQL: the same firm can appear in several sources with conflicting data, and only one clean version makes it into the profile.
- Contact data verification so published profiles stay current — the directory's value depends on it.
3. Programmatic SEO
- Thousands of URLs generated from the database: every community, province and procedure gets its own page with a title, meta description and content composed from its own records.
- Structured data — Organization and WebSite with SearchAction — plus canonicals and Open Graph across all templates.
- Intent-driven content: the procedure guides capture people with paperwork on their hands and present the directory as the natural next step.
4. Performance
- Tuned queries and indexes so the territory pages — some listing hundreds of firms — render instantly.
- CSS preload and JS modulepreload, hash-versioned assets for aggressive caching, and images with declared dimensions to avoid CLS.

The distribution mirrors Spain's real business landscape: Andalusia (1,395 firms), Catalonia (1,026) and the Community of Madrid (964) account for the bulk, followed by the Valencian Community (684) and Castile and León (556), with the long tail reaching Ceuta (21) and Melilla (20). The data comes from professional sources — REAF, AEDAF and professional associations — cross-checked with Google Maps and verified before publication.

A national portal that runs on its own: programmatic SEO attracts people searching for an advisor in their province or wrestling with a tax procedure, and the directory gives them the answer with no sign-up and no friction. For me it is also a real-world laboratory: what I test here in directory architecture, data pipelines and programmatic SEO is what I later apply to my clients' projects — with the difference that here I operate the entire product, from raw data to published profile.
